On December 15th, a wonderful time was had by all during a wintry morning (as much as can be in San Diego) with a breakfast to win the day! Our PTSA lead Jenny Goodman with the help of Meredith Kennedy and a few other PTSA ‘elves’ prepared a meal with an assortment of choices for the many teachers and staff. Thanks go out to all those who either donated items, prepared items, or put them out in a timely and orderly fashion. Thanks also goes to the staff members who helped bring the tables, set up the cover, and gave PTSA members access to the materials needed for it to be a success.
Last, but not least, thank you to all the PTSA members – your membership allows us to show our appreciation for the teachers’/staff’s efforts in educating the next generation.

Thank you so much for supporting the Adopt-A-Family Program this year! We have closed fundraising for this, but any funds that do come in after the December 15th cut off will be used for a new program in the Spring.
Donations are now closed.
We will provide a more detailed update soon. Your generous contributions will go to help brighten the holiday season for several UCHS families.
Students will pick up their textbooks during registration days; can have their photo taken for their school ID; and purchase an ASB card, yearbook, and PE clothes. Membership forms/payment for PTSA, Centurion Foundation, and EdUCate will be collected. School tours will be offered to Freshmen, Sophomores, and new students.
Students who did not return their completed registration packets during the early packet return days in June and July will need to do so during registration. Students who will not be returning to UCHS for the 21-22 school year, please contact Rosa Penamoya as soon as possible at 619-605-2800 x3021.

*The UCHS PTSA is seeking nominees for the Executive Board positions of Executive Vice President and Historian. We are looking to increase diversity because representation matters. On average, each position requires only 2-4 hours of your time per month.
If you have not served on the UCHS PTSA before, no problem! We are here to work as a team and support each other’s efforts. This coming year we expect to have opportunities to have meetings both in-person and over Zoom to allow for your busy schedules or long commutes to and from school/work.
If you cannot volunteer, then bring this announcement to the attention of another parent who can step up and join the team. Together we will contribute to a more equitable and improved learning environment for our children.
Elections will be held at the next General Member Meeting, scheduled for Thursday, April 29, 2021

The purpose of this program is to facilitate introductions between families interested in carpooling once in-person school is back in session. Interested families will submit a form with their contact information, zip code and other neighborhood information.
PTSA volunteers will sort the responses by neighborhood and share contact information between families in each neighborhood. Families will be responsible for assessing any safety concerns and managing scheduling.
Our new Vice Principal is working with the Wellness Committee and is asking the PTSA to help with collecting some data on staff and student wellness. If you have five minutes, could you please fill out this survey.
The goal is to have as many unique voices as possible to ensure that the school is focused on the right action steps to address staff and student wellness!Please submit ASAP!
